Only if you use the fairy tale numbering system where the day comes before the month ;)

Actual time is 12:34:56 08/07/09!

I like to stick with the archival-friendly format of [year/month/day hour:min:sec], it just makes sense.

And yes Gollie, we in Australia and others in many parts of the world, record the date very differently to the people in the USA.

We put day, month, year. For instance, Xmas day is 25/12/09. It causes many of us a great deal of consternation when working in data bases and various other computer forms when things can stuff up severely due to date structures pre set.

Americans are stupid :)

Only in America (I hope!) will you find train-station upon train-station that has absolutely no indication of what time it is, but has, on every single platform, a clear listing of the date and year from a brand new digital sign.

W...t.....f?

"Shit, I wonder if I missed my train, what date is it.... oh, thank God, it's the right date!"

I haven't met any Americans yet, that I hate :p

Your country does posses many customs and treats worthy of loathing, however :p As I'm sure my own does.

Your number series reminded me of this (incredibly dumb) joke.

Why is the number 6 afraid?

Because 7 8 9.

I agree... incredibly dumb... one of our summer student threw that at me during lunch at some point and it took me 2 mins just to figure out why the fork he would randomly say that (I'd said something about motor 7 being right after motor 6).
