Prolly not playing for a couple nights: magic smoke escaped

The fan on the graphics card in my main machine decided to stop spinning last night while I was playing, followed shortly by a really bad smell and the machine going into a reboot loop. I was able to put a really old card in but its really not up to EQ so I'll have to go shopping tonight or tomorrow. Fortunately today's payday.

Old card is a Radeon HD5750, looking at the specs the 7750/7770 only seem to be similar in performance and I only really start to see improvement at the 7850 level (that will give me 2gb of memory for textures and stuff tho) so 7850/7870 is probably what I'm looking at.

bummer to hear about the card man. that's the same Xfire kit I have in my rig atm

Ordered a 2GB 7850 card from Amazon. I'm under 10km from their warehouse and they are promising delivery today so I might be back up and running by tomorrow. About AUD200 even including the express shipping.
