Post by Phantomwalker »

If your wondering why this is fkn here its cause Miru's recipie threads are "LOCKED" unless yer a "Special user" you can't post there ... someone wana change that and I'll bump this to there and delete? or move it for me? :)

Thanks,

---------------------------------------

1 stick butter, softend
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetend grated coconut
- NOTE: (Key ingredient makes the cookie awseome if yah don't like coconut don't even bothah with this recipie as you'll just be eating a boring cookie ;))
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
------------------------------------

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (204.44 C)

Grease cookie sheets.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
Beat in egg.
In another bowl, combine oats, flour, coconut, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Ad to creamed mixture and beat well. Stir in raisins.
Drop by generous tablespoonfuls, 2 inches appart, on greased sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, just until set. Transfer to racks to cool.

Makes approximately 25 cookies.

Storage:
These are chewy cookies... storing them with crispy cookies will cause them to change character dramatically so be advised on that...

Enjoy :mrgreen:

Sorry some conversions here for yah all...

liquid:
1 Tbsp == 15 ml
1/2 cup == 2 fl. oz. == 60 ml
1 cup == 8 fl. oz. == 250 ml
dry:
1/4 cup == 4 tbsp == 2 oz == 60 g
1 cup == 1/2 pound == 8 oz == 250g
flour:
1/2 cup == 60g
1 cup == 4 oz == 125 g
Miscellaneous:
all-purpouse flour == plain flour :0p
baking soda == bicarbonate of soda
brown sugar == demerara sugar (not sure where they call it this hehe)
rolled oats == oat flakes
sugar == caster sugar (wtf sugar is sugar damnit) hehe

But yah anyway family recipe and one of my favorites next to Irish Beef stew... :) enjoy and hopefully the american measures don't bugger yah all up :)

Stick of Butter

Post by Miruwin »

I believe Americans have these weird wrapped 'sticks' of butter - think they weigh 50gm but wouldn't swear to it - prepared to be wrong about that

1 Stick of Butter == 1 half cup... I'm not sure if its considered dry or wet measure I'd assume dry though?
