Chocolate Chip Cookies

Post by Aamasie »

Friend gave me this recipe, although I have tweaked it a bit.

1 lb butter, room temperature (no substitutions)
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla extract (no imitation stuff)
3 medium eggs (or 2 large)

Cream together in a mixer until fluffy, takes a while, maybe 5 minutes.

Add:

6 cups flour
2 1/4 tablespoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix together, batter will be stiff. Add 2 bags (12 oz each) chocolate chips which have been frozen. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes. Do not overbake, just want them set and slightly browned. Makes a lot of cookies I usually halve the recipe.

Chocolate chips are frozen to chill the dough, so the cookies bake chewy not crunchy.
